NHS Milton Keynes CCG encourages the Milton Keynes population to lead a healthy lifestyle for both themselves and their families. To help us all achieve this, information is available on various health issues on the left. Or for further information visit NHS Choices
The NHS has a duty to spend the money it receives in a fair and efficient way, taking into account the health needs of the whole local community. There is only a set amount of money available to spend so we sometimes have to make difficult decisions about which treatments are routinely provided.
In some circumstances, your clinician (usually a GP or consultant) may think that you have an exceptional clinical circumstance and may benefit from a treatment that is not routinely provided. Requests for such treatments must be made through an Individual Funding Request (IFR).
Please click here for the IFR Policy on treatments that the CCG does not routinely provide and on those treatments where your doctor needs to seek approval before he can refer you. There is a full range of documents providing treatment funding information here.
If you are considering treatment abroad it is very important that you read these pages in case funding for your treatment needs approval before the NHS can fund it.
