We recognise that there are three dimensions to high quality healthcare: good clinical care, patient experience and patient safety.
To deliver high-quality care, we work to the NHS Outcomes Framework, which ensures improvements in the areas of:
Preventing people from dying prematurely
Enhancing quality of life for people with long-term conditions
Helping people to recover from episodes of ill health or following injury
Ensuring that people have a positive experience of care
Treating and caring for people in a safe environment, protecting them from avoidable harm
‘We will openly work with you to plan and buy services that are high quality and provide you with the best health outcomes and experiences while achieving value for money for our local community. We will listen and we will improve the health and well-being for everyone in Milton Keynes.’
Principles
Our promise is underpinned by four main principles:
To commission services which are value for money
To involve clinical leadership to make a real difference
To improve quality and safety to positively impact on clinical outcomes and patient experience
To develop effective engagement with stakeholders
Strategic objectives
To deliver this vision and these principles, we devised a strategy which consists of three key strategic areas of focus for 2014/15, supported by locally identified priorities.
