The Designated Nurse and Designated Doctor for safeguarding children employed by Milton Keynes CCG have specific roles and responsibilities for safeguarding children. They take a strategic, professional lead on all aspects of the health service contribution to safeguarding children.
The Designated Professionals are available for advice on safeguarding children matters to the MKCCG, named safeguarding health professionals, health professionals, local authority staff, Milton Keynes Safeguarding Children Board and partners in Milton Keynes.
All NHS Trusts have a named doctor, and named nurse for safeguarding, who will provide advice and expertise for fellow professionals and promote good practice within their organisation.
Milton Keynes GP practices have a lead GP for safeguarding; support for the lead GP is available from the Named GP and Designated professionals.

What do I do if I am concerned about a child or young person?
The Multi-Agency Safeguarding Children Hub (MASH) is the single point of contact for concerns regarding children and young people in Milton Keynes. Click here for MASH leaflet
If a child is in immediate danger please call the police on 999
If you are worried that a child may be suffering from harm or at risk of harm but you do not believe that they are in immediate danger you must share your concerns with the MASH.
