The following local and national sources are freely available. 

Milton Keynes Intelligence Observatory (MKi) including:

  • MKi Observatory Data Analysis module- browse or search for datasets relating to a wide range of health related subjects incuding  Mortality rates, Life Expectancy, Teenage conceptions.
  • Social Atlas -presentation of a wide range of social and economic indicators that give a quantitative description of all estates and settlements across Milton Keynes. Updated annually
  • Health and Social Care resources relating to MK, including the Public Health Annual Reports
  • Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) -used to identify the health and wellbeing needs (and inequalities in those needs) of the local population and formulate the health & Wellbeing Strategy going forward.
  • Mosaic data map of Milton Keynes - a geodemographic analysis of the population 
  • Census 2011 - Sub district level key statistics including the age profile, ethnicity, qualifications, household composition, health and economic activity
  • Key Statistics & 'In Brief' Guides including health, dwellings, Deprivation

The NHS Commissioning Board has compiled a series of Outcomes benchmarking support packs: CCG and LA level - one for each CCG and LA in England. The CCG level packs provide a detailed analysis of NHS outcomes and other relevant indicators.The Local Authority level packs present high level comparative information on the NHS, the Adult Social Care and the Public Health Frameworks. Raw data is also available.

NHS Outcomes and Performance - Statistics on NHS outcomes and performance from the Department of health,  including elective and emergency care provided in hospitals and mental health.

 NHS Information Centre for Health and Social Care Statistics - national source of NHS, health and social care information. including

  • National Adult Social Care Intelligence Service (NASCIS)
  • NHS Comparators -  activity and costs data across NHS Trusts on a local, regional and national level. Includes activity and costed data through PbR tariff from the Secondary Uses Service (SUS), QOF, GP practice demographic population profile data and prescribing data. (NHS staff; Registration required)
NHS IC Indicator Portal  (N3 only) - health and social care indicators including:
  • Compendium of Population Health Indicators - A wide-ranging collection of over 1,000 indicators designed to provide a comprehensive overview of population health at a national, regional and local level. These indicators were previously available on the Clinical and Health Outcomes Knowledge Base website (also known as NCHOD).
  • GP Practice data - This is a collection of practice level data and is designed to improve healthcare and support patients in making better, informed choices about the practice they choose to register with (currently only available on http://indicators.ic.nhs.uk)
  • Local Basket of Inequalities Indicators (LBOI)  This collection of 60 indicators helps organisations to measure health and other factors which influence health inequalities such as unemployment, poverty, crime and education. These indicators were previously available on the London Health Observatory website.
  • NHS Outcomes Framework - The NHS Outcomes Framework indicators will be used by the Secretary of State to hold the NHS Commissioning Board to account.
  • Summary Hospital-level Mortality Indicator (SHMI)  SHMI is the new hospital-level indicator which uses standard and transparent methodology for reporting mortality at hospital trust level across the NHS in England.
  • Social Care  -  Adult Social Care Outcomes Framework (ASCOF) including data for 14 measures which are designed to enable users to compare the effectiveness of care delivered by councils responsible for adult social care services.

Fingertips indicators tool for the Eastern Region - public health indicators including health & wellbeing, child health, health inequalities, adult social care and substance misuse. Most recent data is 2010 (Jan 2013)
