Healthy Living Pharmacy (HLP) started as a joint project between NHS Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire, and Milton Keynes Local Pharmaceutical Committee. The Healthy Living Pharmacy concept began as a project in Portsmouth and there are now over 2000 Health Living Pharmacies either accredited, or on their way to accreditation in England. The majority of pharmacies in Milton Keynes are Healthy Living Pharmacies.
Healthy Living Pharmacies have been awarded the Healthy Living Pharmacy quality mark by NHS Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group, so everyone who visits can recognize that they are in a place where the team really care about the health and well being of their local community. A Health Living Pharmacy can be recognized by the logo above.
Healthy Living Pharmacies have a Healthy Living Champion who, as well as delivering services themselves, keeps up to date with health services in your community and can sign post you to further help – and they share this information with the whole team. All Healthy Living Pharmacies have at least one trained Healthy Living Champion.
Healthy Living Pharmacies have to meet a challenging set of quality criteria, and offer a range of NHS services. They are required to meet delivery targets for these services.
