MKCCG is a Category 2 Responder as defined in the Civil Contingencies Act (2004) and provide support primary care secondary care providers in Milton Keynes in planning for, responding to and recovering from major incidents.
Emergency Prepared Resilience and Response
The Director of Transformation and Delivery is the CCG’s Accountable Emergency Officer and is supported by a Business Continuity and Resilience Manager. The CCG has in place an Incident Response Plan, Business Continuity Plan and maintains the Milton Keynes Health Economy Escalation Framework in line with the NHS Emergency Preparedness Resilience and Response Framework November 2015 and NHS England Core Standards for EPRR.
Milton Keynes CCG is represented at the Thames Valley Local Health Resilience Partnership by the Director of Public Health from Milton Keynes Council and will also attend as required. In order to ensure suitable and effective Milton Keynes Health Economy plans are in place MKCCG chairs the Milton Keynes Health Resilience Group which meets regularly as a sub-group of the multi-agency Milton Keynes Resilience Group. The Milton Keynes Health Resilience Group is the vehicle by which multi-agency health EPRR training and exercising is facilitated.
Milton Keynes CCG partakes in the annual NHS Assurance Process and works closely with the main health providers in Milton Keynes to ensure all have appropriate Incident Response and Business Continuity Plans in place ensuring compliance to the requirements of the Civil Contingencies Act (2004), the NHS Act 2006 (as amended) and other NHS England EPRR guidance.
