MK Commissioning has agreed to plan, purchase and make changes to local health services through the following Programmes:
Children, Young People & Maternity
Care Pathways & Primary Care
Mental Health & Learning Disabilities
System Resilience Group
The programmes are designed to identify commissioning intentions for the current and future years to:
Contribute to the development and implementation of the Milton Keynes QIPP and Reform Plan
Develop whole system care pathways or service models and commissioning approaches for delivering these
Monitor the quality of services provided in the clinical services and take appropriate action to ensure that the quality of care is enhanced through a continuous quality improvement approach.
Scrutinising the performance management of let contracts and oversee the management of variation
Each programme is led by a programme board, chaired by a GP who is a CCG board member and has responsibility to ensure the programme, and specific projects, are delivered.
Robust engagement with clinicians, provider organisations, patients and the public will be critical to the success of our programmes.
As a subcommittee of Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire PCT Cluster, MK Commissioning has delegated budgets to manage responsibility for delivering the Milton Keynes element of the Cluster’s QIPP and Reform Plan.
